- DOWN – You want to feel body positive, but deep down, you hate how you look. Your clothes don’t fit right, you dread occasions where you have to dress up, and some days, you just wonder how you let yourself go.

Let Me Tell You a Story…
Ever since I was a child, I always felt a bit on the heavy side, and I spent all my high school years on some type of diet or another. Counting calories, eliminating entire food groups, and spending most of the time feeling hungry. I didn’t see my hunger as the healthy appetite of a teenager and young adult, I saw it as a sign of weakness. I’d go on a diet where I was basically starving myself, then I’d binge on ice cream, chips, or fast food and feel like a total failure.
Of course, looking back, I was a perfectly healthy size and had a perfectly healthy appetite, but my constant dieting and bingeing left me with low self-esteem, terrible habits and an addiction to sugar!
Hitting Rock Bottom…
Years later, in my pain, I turned toward food – especially candy, ice cream, and cookies, and in my exhaustion, I relied on sodas and sugary coffees to keep going.
But I was definitely NOT fine.
As a single mom with 2 toddlers I found myself over 100 pounds overweight and HATING my body. Even worse, I felt exhausted, sick, and moody all the time. I never had any energy, my body hurt, my digestion was a mess, and to top it all off I was pre-diabetic on thyroid medication.
The moment I realized my health was impacting my ability to be truly present for my kids, I knew I had to make a change. I owed it to them – and to myself.
The Journey To Healing
I looked closely at my life and at my diet and realized much of my diet consisted of sugar. A bit of research clued me in that sugar is not only HIGHLY addictive (worse than smoking, even!), it’s also incredibly toxic! It plays a major role in obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, triggers chronic inflammation, and damages the immune system. That’s just the START of what sugar does.
So, of course, my first step was to eliminate sugar. Easy, right? Except sugar is in EVERYTHING. Yogurt, salad dressing, spaghetti sauce, bread… Pretty much all processed foods.
My research led me to realize that eating clean was the solution I was looking for. I didn’t have to diet or count one single calorie. I simply chose to nourish my body with foods that included lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables! If it was natural and whole, it stayed in my pantry or fridge, if not, out it went.
What a difference this made!
In just a few weeks, I had dropped several pounds without feeling hungry! The sugar cravings ENDED!! Even better, I felt INCREDIBLE – I hadn’t had one headache, my digestion was back on track, and I had ENERGY. My sugars were consistently level and I was able to stop my thyroid medication. I no longer looked at myself through shattered lenses. I felt FREE!!
A NEW FOUND PURPOSE
My journey began with my personal transformation—losing 110 pounds and maintaining that weight loss for over 15 years while overcoming compulsive eating. This experience, combined with my certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), allows me to offer a unique blend of empathy, expertise, and effective coaching.
I believe health is bio-individual and multidimensional. I tailor personalized plans that address nutrition, movement, stress management, and emotional well-being.
